Photographer Got His Girlfriend To Photograph Her Own Proposal Without Knowing It

As with any profession or hobby that you love, it is always a fun idea to incorporate your passion into your proposal. Che Birch-Hayes, a professional photographer, took his girlfriend to Nott Hill, in the Gower of South Wales, that had an incredible view of Three Cliffs Bay below. Without her even knowing it, he got her to photograph her own proposal! What amazing photos to keep forever and to share with their children one day!

Here are the photos they captured. We hope you enjoy them!

The day of the planned proposal was beautiful. The sun was shining and Becky happily began capturing the beautiful scenery while Che was setting up several cameras.

When Becky's hay fever began to kick in, she was having trouble focusing on taking photos, so he decided to pop the ring inside the camera viewfinder when she was not looking. She saw the object, and thinking it was something broken in their, opened it up and there was the ring!

After the celebrated, he said to her, "you'v just been the second shooter at your own engagement!"

How special is this? Such a fun idea for a photographer to do as their proposal!

Be sure to read Che Birch-Hayes' entire plan for his proposal in this article we found on PetaPixel. You can also see more of his photography on his website, www.chebirchhayesphotography.com

NFL Game Photographed With An iPhone 6S Plus

Sports photographer Andrew Weber was sent to the Sunday Night Football game between Denver Broncos and the Detroit Lions. Instead of using his typical photography gear that he shoots with, he was asked by GottaBeMobile to shoot everything with just an iPhone 6S Plus.

These photos he took show off what the new iPhone camera can and can not do when shooting top-level athletes in a darker environment with tons of action taking place.

The original article from PetaPixel said that Weber used Camera+ to control settings such as shutter speed and ISO and he was impressed with the quality of images he captured. He also liked that he was able to slow down the shutter speed for shooting panning action shots with blur.  Check them out below and be sure to tell us what you think in the comments below.

Animated Short Film on Taking Pictures

We found the great animated short film called "Taking Pictures" that was created by Simon Taylor and we just had to share.

Taylor is an animator and photography enthusiast. His short film is a story about two little photographers who are taking photos in the park and meet up. A lovely story about their shared love of photography.

Enjoy!

We are not biased or anything, but there really is something pretty wonderful about taking the most perfect photographs and capturing beauty. You may simply love taking pictures at a park as a hobby. You may be a wedding photographer photographing a bride and groom's first day of their new life together. Or, just maybe your passion is taking photos of newborn babies or a teenager's senior photos as they are excitedly getting ready to graduate from High School. Whatever your passion, there is something amazing about those moments that are frozen in time.

Like these two in the video, all of us photographers are in this together... taking pictures is a wonderful thing!

Do you love photography but just do not have a good camera to get the job done? Here is a Canon EOS 5D Mark III that we just love!

"Earlier this week photographer Jonathan Nimerfroh was walking along the coast of Nantucket when he noticed something odd about the waves crashing on shore. The high temperature was 19°F (-7.2°C) and while the waves weren’t completely frozen, they were thick with pieces of ice, much like the consistency of a Slurpee, or an slushy, or an ICEE, or whatever. It’s amazing to see how the ice changes the form and color of the waves, making them seem almost solid. You can see a few more shots over on Stay Wild Magazine. You can follow more of Nimerfroh’s photography on Instagram."

Nighttime Photos of NYC Captured Out of the Open Door of a Helicopter at 7,500 Feet

We found this article from PetaPixel and had to share. At 7,500 feet and leaning out of an open helicopter door, photographer Vincent Laforet captured some stunning nighttime photographs of New York City. The beauty of the shoot is that he was able to capture looking down at the city without any pane of glass like in an airplane. A few thousand feet higher and oxygen masks would have been required.

Laforet has been on over 50 aerial adventures over New York City over the past 15 or so years, but this one was “by far the most frightening flight of them all,” he writes over atStorehouse.

He and his cameras were harnessed into the helicopter as he shot the images for Men’s Health Magazine using a Canon 1D X and Mamiya Leaf Credo 50MP at 3200/6400 ISO with a set of f/1.2-f/2.8 lenses. The high ISO and a fast shutter speed allowed Laforet to shoot sharp photographs despite the significant vibrations of the helicopter.

Expansive Finnish Landscapes Photographed by Mikko Lagerstedt

Mikko Lagerstedt is a self-taught photographer that likes to camp next to his tripod at night, waiting hours for an exposure of a frozen coastal scene or a dark and brooding forest. He likes to take shorter exposures of the same location and merge shorter exposures of the sky with significantly longer exposures of the ground, then manipulate in Lightroom. Lagerstedt is extremely open about his process, sharing tutorials and blog posts about how he works on his website. You can also follow him on Instagram.
